Normal life usually continues for most people and they go about their day as usual in most cases. Just now they have to worry about random acts of violence exploding near them and disrupting their everyday life. I wish I remember who wrote it but I remember reading an article from a guy who lived during the civil war in Sri Lanka and him saying despite what people think the average person day to day life continued as normal. Got up, went to work, hung out with family. It just added a new dynamic of underlying fear that everyone felt that they didn’t know what tomorrow may bring.

Just because cars are moving outside doesn’t mean anything in this context. Personally, I think we are in a prelude at most of a civil war or the battle will never start because the other side will not face a significant challenge. White nationalist/christian nationalists and fascists got all the reigns of power right now and they aren’t slowing down on solidifying their power. At this rate they are going to set up the system like Hungary or Russia where yeah you can still vote but you’ll never be able to beat them because of how the voting is set up. There will only be a civil war if there is enough of an opposition to fight back against this and that doesn’t seem to be happening. We slipping into authoritarianism without much fight against it from the opposition.

It’s not the limited government at home, neocon when it comes to international diplomacy, Christian, fiscally conservative and family values type GOP anymore.

During this Second mandate of trump so far, the republican administration is moving like an authoritarian and autocratic fascist semi-dictatorship. Trump has more executive power than any president in recent memory. And His own party controls the senate, the congress and republican appointed judges outnumber democratic appointed judges in the Supreme Court. They control the balance of power in the Supreme Court. And he can appoint many more republican leaning judges in many federal judicial districts. For now they’re in control of the country until 2028.

The party of bob dole, George bush, and mitt Romney is dead. They don’t dictate and influence republican ideology, strategy and policy Since 2015.

Maga Fascists/white supremacists are now the loudest and proudest faction in the GOP. The tea party cult from 2008-2014 evolved into maga as soon as trump announced his bid for the presidency and absorbed even more radical racist factions than them, like the Groypers led by nick Fuentes.
