The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired Donovan Mitchell in a trade, sources tell ESPN.

Why are these teams trading away all their Draft Picks? We all know Cleveland ain't going anywhere past 1st Round Exit/Play-In status.

Ain't much difference in Colin Sexton and Donovan Mitchell. Both are shot chuckers and bad at getting teammates involved.

But why? Why is now a good time for them to go all in? Team is still very young. Showed promise but missed the playoffs. Your 2 best players are still developing and you add a high volume scorer, while losing multiple picks and some young players. I don’t see the why this year was an all in year for the Cavs
Why wait, windows are short, and cavs not the type to consistently draft good every year or attract free agents
And playoffs is the best time for players to grow

Even modern bigs like Giannis are becoming ball handlers that can get there own at anytime....thats what puts Giannis at a level over Anthony Davis...

Mobley isnt gonna be a star if he needs to be spoonfed.
What does spoonfed mean to you?

Running the offense and creating their own shot without someone having to do it for them. That poster has a point and I say that as someone that was high on Mobley even going back to college.

Right now it’s fine though as the more immediate focus should be more on improving his offense and three point shot especially without Lauri in the lineup now.

cavs need a sf that can 3 and D and they will be top 5 in the east. PPL that watch the cavs 4real know that rubio is gonna be the real leader of the team so having him back is a huge plus over last year as well...

That’s crazy they rejected this only to pay Sexton and Lauri similar money … Ainge was trying to rob nikkas again

I actually commend the Knicks for not letting Danny rape them …this is like the Lakers tax that GMs try to put on certain big city teams to acquire players

Thinking a team with Garland and Mitchell is going to have scoring droughts is wild

Depending on the matchup, it really isn’t. If they play a healthy Brooklyn, they’ll be defended by Ben Simmons and Royce O’Neale while trying to guard KD and Kyrie on switches. They’re gonna be targeted and worked on defense. Same struggles could occur against the Celtics.

They also have Levert, Love and Mobley?

Probasketball talk brought up an interesting point that a lot of people overlooked in that now Cleveland can’t sign Mobley to a max rookie extension with both Mitchell and Garland on the roster

Mitchell is one of the best generators of threes for teammates in the league

Few players in the league can make the kickout passes he makes

Comparing him to Sexton :mjlol:

Why do y’all love to hate? :mjlol:

Cavs were a top 4 seed most of the season with a young roster they got bit by the injury bug and dropped a bit suiting up 26 different guys last season. But at one point they were one of the best teams in the league.

Adding Mitchell gives them an in prime star on top of the elite young talent they have that will be reaching their primes in the next 2-3 years and gives them a nice contention window. The move isn’t necessarily for next year but down the line. They have successfully rebuilt post-LeBron quickly the org is competent.

Picks are overrated what would they gain keeping those picks. The average NBA draft pick ain’t shyt. The league is too deep and talented to just be sitting back everyone tryna get better at any cost and the game is better for it.
