I thought the thread premise was peculiar, but throwing the Clipse against Cypress isn't a bad idea.

Cypress Hill
Black Sunday
Temples of Boom
Cypress Hill IV

vs.

Lord Willin
Hell Hath No Fury
Till the Casket Drops
The Re-Up Gang Mixtapes

I'd say it's about a draw between the two camps. I've never listened to Exclusive Audio Footage, which is why I didn't throw it out there.

I have to admit, I've never listened to an entire JB album, which is sad. Have to put that on my to do list. "One big push for all mankind" is one of my favorite lines too, but I just never got around to giving an album a complete listen.

Yeah, same here. I haven't heard much of their work either. When I posted in this thread, it was mainly for the comparison of Cypress and Clipse. But I have to go with Cypress.

They're also from different eras though, if you think of it. Cypress is a lot more old school, Clipse is more recent, different times, different sound but they're both some of my favourite acts.

Both great albums. I just feel Cypress has a better catalogue although they fell off after IV. They started doing that weird rock shyt and it was just awful music, lol
idk breh.. to me they had a handful of bangers on all their albums. but clipse, come on. their first three albums were filled with heat. pharrell's beats, pusha on his drug lord shyt & malice trying to repent from his sins? :banderas: it doesn't get more gangsta than that

plus clipse has better bars than the other two choices

Yeah, all their albums had good tracks, I stopped fukking with em after Skull & Bones though. I lost interest in them. But yeah, Clipse are great too. I loved both Lord Willin' and Hell Hath No Fury. Till The Casket Drops was cool, but I didn't like it as much.

I agree with you on that. The production particularly. There's a lot of production from those days that sounds very dated and didn't age well. Temples of Boom is a top 5 greatest album ever though. Their best album IMO and its in my top 5 greatest albums ever. Any genre.

yea.

alot of early '90s rap seems to have an expiration date hidden on the back of its cds somewhere.

DJ Muggs is probably the most underrated producer ever

that man has his own sound, that dark/haunting/spooky shyt u smoke to is all muggs, rza does similar sound but with more samples and it's not as scary (unless on some gravediggaz shyt)

you can tell his influence everywhere from Erick Arc Elliot (FBZ) to Lil Ugly Mane even tho that nikka is more Memphis influenced, but still

IV is my favorite album just because it got best Muggs beats and smoke to rebellious kill cops lyrics, I could listen to their instrumentals all day

:banderas:

hook game is mad good

AUDIO X...We gonna blow your head up (up)
Synthetic flows, they gonna make you get up
Give me any record and I'll flip it any style
nikkas can't help it, cause they bumpin the shyt loud
