I see a lot of posters here praising Mugabe as some sort of pan african super hero.

Are you guys trolling or you really really honestly dont know that truth?

Some on here see him as someone who said "up yours" to white people. But he really just screwed black Zimbaweans and the white farmers injured or killed...

I dont want to write a million word post on all the abuses and what not Zimbaweans suffered during his rule.

For clarity, Mugabe had a lot of people pushing for him to stay in power. Even if he wanted to step down there were too many people "eating" from his regime and worked to keep the status quo. There are probably some still working to turn things back in their favour.

I see that to some calling out magabe and other leaders like him is seen as a betrayal to the "black cause" by some.

Imagine building houses. You skrimped and saved in VERY difficult economoic conditions. You build your house for your family and babies but the state comes and buldozes all those houses, at the start of the rainy season, because the leader had decided he personally doesnt like their location, not because the land was stolen or protected land not to be built on. Then you watch helplessly as everything you worked for is destroyed.

They could have said STOP BUILDING! The moment someone broke ground on the first houses foundation, but no. They let hundreds waste their time, momey and energy building. Only to then demolish it all.

So if being against somethiNg like that is anti black or seen as pro white then I just dont know.

Maybe we have different interpretations of being pro black and pro basic human rights.

Mugabe militarily dominated and defeated cacs; skewered them and threw their organs on the road; and cacs have been trying to destroy him ever since.

To that end, the CIA, MI6, American and European governments have been interfering with Zimbabwe ecnomically and instigating regime change.

Mugabe is a hero. He gave his people a new lease on life. It is up to Zimbabweans to do what they will with it.

Without Mugabe, Zimbabweans would be slaves to white people, basically. Better freedom while struggling on knees than slavery on your feet while condemned.

Why bother ? This dumb c*nt probably never saw Zim at its height. Mugabe made a proactive effort to make black folks literate and all she does is yearn for Rhodesia like some frail cac in an Australian nursing home.

i don't know enough to comment but the general sentiment was that mugabe was preferable to white farmers reminiscient of slavemasters.

Sure he killed thousands of fellow black Zimbabweans and denied Zimbabwe democracy, just as the white farmers would.... but at least he was black

Id rather be a black man's slave than a white man's slave because I know at least a black man willl make white people mad in the process
