What don't we get?

That Curry should be above other MVP/Championship players when it comes to criticism?

Please enlighten me? :sas2:
Curry's not above criticism, just as every other player. The point is, y'all carrying on like this game actually takes away from how dominant he's been this season - declaring all types of shyt off just ONE game. Most of the Curry threads created yesterday weren't criticism, they were overreactions to one game.

One dude had the nerve create a thread stating that Curry isn't on AI's level. :dead:

being for real tho, Curry puts so much pressure on defenses that it really does take 100% concentration to guard him. the spurs are smart enough, at least last night, to do it. question is can you do it 4 times :patrice:

thing about a jump shooting team is they will give at least one game in a series like last night

Better question is does the refs let the spurs touch curry like that next game without it being a foul.

Yes, and I'm telling you that performance was an abberation. The greatest shooter in league history doesn't shoot 8% on 3's because of good defense, he missed some looks that are routine for him. Idk why you can't admit this while also giving credit to the Spurs for their defense. It's not one or the other

Nope, Curry isn't immune to great defense but the reason Durant, Bron, Kobe, Dirk, Wade are the players that they are is b/c they have the ability to break any defense regardless of how they're played. It's what makes them legendary, all time great superstars to begin with.
Why are you even mentioning Curry in the same sentence as Kobe and those guys and saying the word legendary? A season and a half of good play makes you legendary now?

And Kobe has taken and made more tough shots than anybody in history but he has also missed the most shots in league history. Look it up. You're going to miss more of those ridiculous shots than you make no matter who you are. It's simple math

If teams use their head and have the right gameplan then they too can force Curry to have a night like this. The Lakers did it too.

I don't even know why I'm talking to you. You said Draymond green could guard Kareem :dwillhuh:so it's obvious where your bias lies

Because he's having a year on par if not better than their very best. You can compare players in terms of peak seasons (NBA historians do this all the time with Bill Walton, who's career was cut short to injury) and '16 Curry is up there with '08 Kobe, '09 Wade, '11 or '06 Dirk, '14 Durant. He is leading arguably the best offense in NBA history right now with an absurd on/off difference and unprecedented mix of volume & efficiency while not being a ball stopper and often playing within the flow of an offense. Its special stuff that deserves to be compared with special players.

I never said Curry doesn't miss a good amount of those shots that he takes. The point is that he hits them at a very consistent rate, as did Kobe with his crazy fadeaways. I will say however that Kobe's penchant for taking a high volume of 3's rarely worked in his favor, as he was generally a league average 3PT shooter and never truly elite.

I have to laugh at the Lakers forcing anyone into a bad night. They did not force that performance, he just didn't perform well and missed looks a player of his caliber is expected to hit. If Curry doesn't blow up a defense like that on 9/10 nights, he ain't deserving of even being in the discussion for best player in the game point blank. You can criticize Curry for failing to show up that game, but lets not glorify the Lakers by saying they did something special when the game was pretty clearly an aberration.

I said Draymond (who is a PHENOMONAL post defender) with help could hold his own against Kareem, this isn't a game of 1v1 in the street, and the main point of that discussion is that if the Warriors went small Kareem would have his struggles guarding the Warriors P&R attack and getting back in transition. It was not so clear cut a matchup as you and others ITT where trying to make it seem.
