Saw my daughter's teacher from last year at the gas station and threw $50 on her tank yesterday. Made me wonder how often they get small perks outside of the job like that.
I just finished my Bachelor's in Music Education in December and applied for my teaching license last friday. I sub from time to time. I only have experience being a substitute and student teaching. I've seen things though![]()

How did you all become teachers? Is there a great grad school for teachers?
)
............but its over nowThat's why I couldn't be a teacherAs a male teacher, you have to distance yourself from female students. Everytime I'm at a school the girls develop a crush on me and I have to ignore it. "Mr. Moore , Keysha likes you!!"and they always ask for hugs. No touching policy

I did lateral entry.
NC is a lateral entry state.
If you're in a lateral entry state you just need a bachelor's in anything, then take the required test for the subject area (praxis, sometimes pearson or others) and they give you a temporary 3 year license.
During the 3 years you have to take certain coursework related to your license. I had to take 7 courses.
There's also Teach for America and The New Teacher Project.
Not sure about the great grad schools. I would assume any credible university is good enough. I took courses at UNC Charlotte.
