Got the same message at work logging on and our security is pretty up to par. Maybe its the browser I was using, Opera? At any rate that message is unsettling.

They probably didn't pay the small fee to secure the site. This needs to be addressed...

Yeah its only about $350 for a 1 year cert.
Or, you can just be like me and make it yourself for free by building a Certificate Authority Server and doing the SSL bindings manually.


Regardless its a bad look to not have secured traffic in 2018 :francis:

But one thing you guys have to consider....

HTTPS traffic is inherently much much slower due to the passing of certs and the initial handshake.
I'm talking like 5x as slow or more.

it really just depends on the site is setup, and how many times you are required to do a handshake.


TheColi already slow enough as is :francis:
