Time to overhaul the wardrobe.

I have too much deadwood and a few ill-fitted stuff.

Looking forward to this.

Legit in the same boat. So many pieces that I bought in a hodge-podge manner that just look out of place now. I've gotten better about how to build a wardrobe so by this time next year I should have a very solid base to operate from.

Yep! The knowledge is there; it's just time to execute.

I'll take advantage of the predictable gift vouchers as Christmas presents and the Christmas/January sales. I also want to start thrifting, there are some real gems to be discovered as I look to spruce up my wardrobe for formal wear.

I'm gonna be using this thread regularly to keep myself accountable, all the best breh!

The bolded is the truth. I’ve always had a sharp eye, just need to execute like you said.

Y’all gonna have to put me on to proper thrift spots. I’ve heard you can find gems but idk where to go

EDIT - I was able to post a pic of it after all...

So I was very happy with the flannel trousers I got off Spier & Mackay.

Decided to take a risk on a final sale parka from them.

I hope it fits.
:lupe:

I copped this one but in blue. It won’t show up since I grabbed the last one.

Follow up to this post.

I ordered this way back in early December.
After like 2 weeks without a shipping notification (apparently Spier & Mackay processing times are notoriously slow), they emailed me to say that the Blue parka is not in stock. The email says if I don't reply with an alternative item in 2 days, they will process a refund. I replied immediately that since the blue is out of stock, please ship me the green one. It took like 2-3 days for them to reply to THAT email. Then it took another 2-3 days for the shipping confirmation, but once the shipping confirmation came through, it arrived the next day -- today.

So this process took me like 3 weeks.
Having said that, I am happy with the coat. It's honestly probably TOO warm for me personally. I'd really only rock this on the coldest of days. But I'm really happy with the quality. FYI the fur on the hood IS removable if you don't care for it. Maybe the only small issue I have is that the zippers are on the left side, which feels odd to me. I wonder if I can move them over?

Anyway, I'd recommend this coat. Be mindful of the size charts though. I'm 6'4 with a bit of a broad chest and sometimes my arms are really snug in some coats at the shoulders/upper triceps. The XXL size is listed as 46, but I think sometimes people might mistake that for Jacket size (like sportcoats). The size 46 actually measures out to about a 54 inch chest, which is bigger than I need but since you're gonna be layering underneath a parka (most likely) you kinda want that extra room.

This was a risk because it was Final Sale but at $300 (after discounts), I'm really happy with it.

If you don't want to spend up for this, I'd probably get an Eddie Bauer parka which can be found for under $200 with the right sales.

So I've been eyeing this inky blue suede bomber from Bonobos. Fits like a dream but the hefty price is:sadcam:.

So this is from one of my previous post in this thread...

At $500, not an "impulse buy" at all but I may pull the trigger. I got a 25% off discount bc they misdelivered a previous order. Also, if I use my credit card, then I get another 15% off.

May wait until the 26th when there may be a sale. We'll see.:yeshrug:

From what I’ve read over the years, it’s super hard to find a good suede or leather jacket for cheap. You kinda have to eat the cost for something quality.

It’s a nice looking jacket. I prefer brown but no shade. It’s dope.

I agree. The quality is definitely there. The elastic on the collar, waist and cuffs told me everything. :wow:

As for the color, no shade taken, breh. I feel you on brown but once I tried on this steely, inky blue, I was:ohlawd:.

Using my flight to Nigeria to organize my shopping list for next year.

Got $1.2K worth of shoes and $1.1K worth of colognes to cop in Q1.

Q2 will be more for shirts, tops and outer wear. Q3 and Q4 will be suits, Nigerian wears and more bespoke trousers. I miss wearing actual pants outside of jeans and khakis.

I’ll make a few trousers this trip in Nigeria but I’ve been cutting so want to finish my cut and settle before really splurging on the bespoke clothes.
