Naw this was a good show and good main event. The little i watched felt like a super showdown show
They punted this year
Yeah. Felt like they suddenly had to create deep tension that didn't really exist. Past year they teamed at war games, both betrayed by Paul and of course the movie. Match delivered atleast despite the lackluster build.Again, these guys just did a movie together. I know that doesn't mean they are buddy buddy but I've never gotten the real life tension of say Seth/Punk or the long term kayfabe tension of Seth/Roman from them so it was always a strange way to go. But without an obvious heel it was the best way to go and it worked so I guess this is just one of those Cena type worked shoots feuds where all of that is just forgotten after the match.

They sale the tickets in packs of two. I’m not flying all the way out there just to go to one show. When I went last year I paid for all four showsNight 2 was much better, anyone paying classic ticket prices for night 1 from now on is a complete fool.
I guess the next title defense will be at SummerSlam.

He's the least athletic guy in top 10-15. Like you said though, nobody has overdelivered despite lacking that athleticism. It's funny because guys like Miz, Orton and whatever get this weird credit for knowing "how to work" and it's almost never interesting. Meanwhile Punk is the one that actually does it, gets the crowd involved, and people to buy his offense. It's going to be sad when he does retire because he might be the last guy that actually understands how to work like that.So true. It is quite incredible what Punk has done. Some moves he does look so bad, and without any athleticism. His top rope elbow is one of the worst lol. But he's damn good at pace and psychology and getting complete buy it from the crowd in his matches.
Yeah, that's the only thing with this match. I really wish there was something more, because it just felt like two guys who sort of didn't like each other, but not enough heat. They worked fukking amazing past it, but it's proof this match should've happened last year instead. It would've had more heat going for it and a stronger story with Heyman playing the in-between. It was weird that he wasn't really involved with it, because it's not like the Vision worked out anyway.Yeah. Felt like they suddenly had to create deep tension that didn't really exist. Past year they teamed at war games, both betrayed by Paul and of course the movie. Match delivered atleast despite the lackluster build.
We had nearly a decade of the product largely wasted specifically for this reason. Last two times he walked out of wrestlemania with the belt he went 3 months and 4 months without defending it respectively and both years took a 2 month vacation where he didn’t even show up on tv at all, which made watching the show entirely pointless. This exact reason is why I found the 3-4 month stretches where Brock would take the belt on vacation (like the end of 2014) to be as unwatchable as even the guest host era. Raw having to devote months on end to a pointless Cody vs Brock feud or half the roster gettin stuck in the judgement day vortex did not make for compelling tv. If Roman shows up weekly and wrestles once or twice a month then we could get some really good stuff, but if he spends more time at home with the wife and kids while doing the same schtick that he’s largely been phoning in for the past year and change, then raw will be as dull as you can imagine.I guess the next title defense will be at SummerSlam.

Punk may have lost but he was the winner for laying that match out.
No run ins, no cinema, old man punk playing the desperate fighter, run the blade, clean loss.
Gave Roman his most sensible match in years.
And AFI on the intro was crazy
