i was rolling with harden as MVP until the 2nd half of the season when westbrook carried the thunder to a lot of close wins with great defensive plays and clutch shots. i know he hogs the ball and was chasing the triple double but it was hard to deny him the MVP by the last few weeks of the season.

And that's important why..?

Fact is that Harden also put up a statline that Oscar Robertson was the last person to have over 50 years ago. Harden actually produced more points with his statline than Westbrook so the triple double is significant because..?

Face it..it's just hype that is easier to sell on people who don't follow the game like that. That's why the media push that narrative more. And people are falling for it right and left even though Harden was more efficient, won more games and played more defense.

Kawhi over Harden is respectable. Westbrook over Harden, while we all like Russ and it's a nice middle finger to Durant's decision, is just an affront to the history and spirit of the award.
