Crazy this came out 12 years ago. Great cd but the skits/workout plan/school spirit prevent it from being played all the way through

The skits are part of the albums college theme but Kanye OD'd I don't know why he thought all them shyts was a good idea...

Still though this is a classic album easily I don't think it's his best but it might be his most classic album because it was a breath of fresh air in the climate, helped shift the climate, birthed a ton of rappers, and was the start of an iconic career. I remember when Kanye would perform the verses off this album at Def Jam Poetry Club (bring this back by the way).

We Don't Care, Spaceship, Through The Wire, Family Business, All Falls Down, Never Let Me Down, Two Words, Last Call, Breathe In Breathe Out, Slow Jamz. Classics.

I never liked Jesus Walks :francis:, Workout Plan notoriously :trash:, and too many damn skits but still a classic. Kanye from 04-08 best rapper/producer in the world.:wow:

Anyone heard this tape it's official, it's just Kanye DJing and talking over the samples from his beats on CD, LR, Be, Talib, Beanie, and Twista's album...

its overrated BECAUSE it was a breathe of fresh air.

he did a great job at blending backpack/commercial rap/neo-soul/rocafella/etc but the album wasn't great.

he was one of those guys that are just good at what they do. its just that his lanes generate $$$$ along with critical acclaim from the people behind the curtain. and his music transcended numerous lanes of those types - neo-soul/backpack/pop/r&b.

The skits, breathe in breath out, workout plan skit and song, get em high. That's too many skippables plus average lyrics. I thought it was a classic at 13 but not so much anymore.

true, i just mean these days. when nikkas talk about ye's albums now these days it's usually biggin' up 808's, mbdtf, late registration or graduation. i feel like college dropout gets left out of the conversation now
