You know what's a trip? There's an illusion that getting college scholarships is easy, like they grow on trees. :comeon:

I'm looking at scholarships to fund my senior year, ok? So I call my financial aid office. I ask for information. He points me to a webpage full of "options."

Every damn scholarship has criteria that basically weeds out people that aren't already "in deep" with the businesses and organizations offering the scholarships. :scusthov:

There's literally nothing out there that I qualify for. :to:

30 years old...non traditional... 3.2 GPA while working full time. I'll be damned. :snoop:

:pacspit: these student loans :to:

College is a scam. Don't let these professors tell you any different. You can get CERTs on your own.

:comeon: The U.S. Government doesn't accept IT certs as a primary form of education as a condition for employment. Neither do Universities and other Taj Mahal employers.

I feel you. It's gonna get higher. Those weed out courses caught me (stats, finance, etc).

Business Management

ehh not the best choice but it is employable. Good luck man. College is a scam, but not if you play it right. Unfortunately people that have to work in their extra time usually arent in a position to play it right. No matter what anyone says going vs not going, going is the better option statistically. You go to a state school i hope

Yes, in-state HBCU. So my loan payback won't be too bad (around 60k...which I can easily deal with if I get the job I'm looking for).

The networking/etc isn't a problem for me since I already have a career. I'm just looking to change careers. I have the connections...but connections can only get you so far these days.

so i shouldn't go?

Colleges are a scam, but they're necessary for a lot of fields. The idea is to spend as little on your education as possible, and major in a field that can yield you good job offers in a decent paying sector (tech, etc).

The problem isn't in going to college. It's all about smart decisions. I went back because I needed my degree to change careers.
