not all skin folk are kin folk. a cast of mammies reading a script adapted from a book steeped in the demonization of black men does not a “black movie” make.

Saw the OG in the theater, and several times after. Excellently made film, but the messaging is disgusting. Downloaded the new one for my mother, but not really interested in watching it. Maybe if H.E.R. was wearing less clothes

I saw it on streaming last night with my wife. Horrible movie and I would have been pissed if I saw that shyt in the movies. I threw in the towel with about 30 mins left. Word of mouth got around that this was a shyt movie and people just didn't waste their time and money to see it.

this was a stage play just like many tyler perry movies. they should have looked at the demo that was buying stage tickets and understood that the movie would have to be made on a tyler perry budget as well.
