As a child I never really knew the power of this song. Now I'm 37 & it hits home like a ton of bricks, brings me to tears to know that all this time I was being groomed as a youngin' preparing me for the world. This song has brought me through LIFE!

When they played this song at my HBCU Undergrad graduation as a throwback I was too hyped, proud and crying tears of joy. Just thinking about my elders who couldn’t get a higher education because of Jim Crow and the pre affirmative action era. Smh. My degrees are dedicated to them and so is this song.
