What is French class like in Toronto high schools? Is it taught seriously or does the teacher just go through the motions? Are there any French schools?

I swear I thought west of Ottawa they didn't learn French

I mean there are entire swaths of the US where there's more Spanish than English. They just don't want to separate from the US. The fact that it's not MANDATED that we speak English and Spanish is already kind of stupid considering how many spanish speakers there are.

They teach english in France and Germany. None of that makes those places less French or less German.

I've lived in Detroit and Toronto, and NY. The temperature in Toronto wasn't different from Chicago, Detroit, or NYC.
Buffalo is like an hour from Toronto. Detroit is 3.5/4 hours from Toronto. Rochester is 3 hours from Toronto and Montreal. Not going to be a huge temperature difference.

Vancouver doesn't get cold at all, they have the same weather as Seattle.

Its cool to do trips to Montreal, if you got money and like boogie stuff Quebec City is nice and you can always go whale watching too.

They are very prideful of their French heritage there, but…..the French themselves don’t really fk with Quebec which in and of itself is fkn hilarious

I've heard that sometimes Quebecois will go to France speaking their French, and the Frenchmen respond "Sorry, I don't speak English"

I wish i went to a french immersion. I remember my first job when i was like 18 in post secondary I was working at a call center getting 8.50 a hour. The folks who were bilingual were getting 15 a hour

Hindsight, I should've learned another language. Never too late.
