Lot of knowledge dropped here. I definitely think a lot of people messed up back in that era signing with majors. It's hard to blame them, but that's how it shook out for most of them. The industry chewed them up and spit 'em out.
Mikey was never signing with Spitta--he couldn't.
From my understanding their label had them tied up and they decided to drop mixtapes, then, when that wasn't working, they just stopped.
Once shyt got figured out, they finally dropped When Fish Ride Bicycles and Grandmaster Special Deluxe two years ago.
More rappers from their era fukked up by going from blogs to mainstream. shyt didn't even work for Wale.
Spitta had the vision even after getting burnt.
Puff Daddy
They got some recent music with Chuck's cousin Boldy James and AlchemistI'm very interested to see how they've progressed as artist. I thought Chuck was going to be bigger on the production side than he is considering the explosion of Detroit and other slow flow talk rappers. They had some heat collectively and individually but it started getting watered down when the buzz dried up.
Shame Drakeo not here anymore, I feel like Chuck would have laced him because of his cadence.
I’ll peep. Mikey Rocks was always dope to me in a Dom Kennedy kinda way.
Learned in this thread that Chuck discovered/introduced Boldy James
I think all 3 now. Looks like part 1 was them together, and parts 2 and 3 are bundled together, with part 2 being a Sir Michael solo, and part 3 being a Chuck solo.So the first 2/3 of the album is out now?
