Hungry man was a fiend on The Corner.

Lester Freeman was Fat Pat. A nikka with big ass hands from shooting dope.

nikka who arrested Orlando, was a young cat on there.

The Landscape Business owner who helped Cutty, really did have a Pretty SL, back then. He ain't eeennn lie.

Two of the main characters who are supposed to be born and raised on Baltimore are played by British actors who...at times do a horrible job hiding their British accents.

What the hell does that have to do with the show being "dumbed down" lmao? The OP suggests one show is authentic and the other isn't as much, which literally is not true.

Who cares where the actor is from. It's his job to act. Anyone here gonna argue Idris Elba is not a great actor? Any casting geniuses here gonna pass up Idris Elba to select a worse local actor because he's from Baltimore and has a better accent? No.

The Wire is the arguably the smartest television show ever, and one of the grittiest. It never holds the audience's hand, it never felt cheaply melodramatic, and it never got the city or its people wrong.

And yea, both shows were created by Simon and based on books he wrote. Based on his time as a reporter in the city.
