How much of a difference do your scores usually have? I got one score from Mint using Equifax and another from quizzle using vanguard and the quizzle score is over 30 points higher. Could it be because that's all 3 bureaus put together?

Also, Capital one has a service where once you get a card and open an online account, you can check your credit score whenever you please. Beware that it's only TransUnion, though.

I've been treating it like a game for the last year.

if you look at it like points and goals, it's kinda fun. I mean... there's no point fretting about it. It's your money, but it's not.

Get a shytty credit card from like the gas station or whatever (especially if you keep getting those "pre-approved" credit card offers in the mail. they don't fukk with folks with totally wrecked credit)

find something you do on a weekly/monthly basis like putting gas in your car, grabbing fast food when you didn't have time to cook, etc. take a piece of masking tape and throw it on the card. label it "gas" or- hell, even categorize by fast food. label the card "subway". the cute cashier will find it hilarious.

end of the month, pay twice the minimum, $100 dollars or all the balance. I hate to think anyone reading this would spend more than a hundred bucks a month on taco Bell or some shyt.

in 6 months, they'll boost the limit on the card, thus increasing your debt to credit ratio (how much credit you've used vs how high your combined limit is) and your score will jump a bit.

Your score jumps, you get more "pre-approved" offers, but only fill them out every 3 or 4 months.

the money you would have put on the stuff you're using the cards for, put on the delinquent shyt on your credit report.

You do that for about a year, you'll wind up with your score increased by a good 100+ points, a lot of your credit cleaned up, extra money and extra emergency funds in your pocket. It's all plastic, but still.

Another good tip (if you've got the willpower), go to your local bank/credit union and get a small loan. If you're approved, take the money from the loan and open another bank account. Have the money from the loan automatically taken out of the bank account, then forget it exists.

Next time, get a bigger loan. Maybe a CD.

Repeat.

Does utilization really matter if you pay it off every month ?

it does matter. dreditors and lenders look at your usage to determine if you're a good or a bad spender or if you would be high risk. like let's say if you have 2 ppl to lend money to. Eric spends 80% off his paychecks and Juan spends 30% , who would you lend the money to ?

Those scores aree different because all 3rd parties are always 30-90 days behind the Credit Agency

@LeVraiPapi got any tips on business credit?

Can I call my credit card companies and have them lower the interest rate? I don't want to use them anymore, just pay it off. I want to go to consumer credit consolidation.

Old post but I'll respond. You can, sometimes they'll need you to exhibit hardship, and they'll revoke the card.

If you're military ask about service members relief.

If you owe money and your credit is in the dumper and its been years, don't pay a dime. Even if you pay one cent then the time it will come off your cc report resets.

Example phone bill in collections you owe 2,000. Its been 6 years, after 7 years it will come off your record.

You pay one cent even one cent then it restarts

Get a guaranteed Cc use it and start building up back your credit.

wait, wait WAIT.

Breh, are you sure about this? cause I got a $200 bill that I owe, and it's been like 3 or 4 years.... I was planning on paying it off next month to get my credit right....

but I'd be better off NOT paying it?

Terrible advice
His credit will continue to be shyt for until it falls off. He pays it off his credit score will go up. I'm sure he will finance something in between the 3-4 years it will take to fall off and will a lot more than $200

Brehs I totaled my ride early last year. Still owed 10 racks. Finance company stated they wouldnt send to collections if I did a PP. Which I been on.

In need of a car still. Wondering if I should get something straight cash. Or possibly get a another ride..lotta money down and use remainder to build credit?

Mine is 660 :sadcam:

I don't understand. I got it to 680 and it just dropped for nothing. I have no outstanding bills, no accounts in collections, all my stuff is on auto pay. Why would this happen? Anyone have any idea? I paid off my cc and it dropped! I'm at least trying to get in the 700's. I don't really have much: one cc, car note, an old cell phone bill from Verizon I paid off, that's it...
