Do people actually take critic reviews serious? I never even read them.. I feel like half of the musical critics go in having a biased on an artist to begin with and just play off that to come up with a half assed review of an album, part of a genre, they hardly even fukk it. :yeshrug:

No one cares what white people think about rap albums. If the critique doesnt come from a black source seriously, black people dont care and a white boy being turned off to a rap album because it got a bad review in pitchfork is a faggit, people we dont like.

I didn't listen to the album yet, but I'm hoping its good. Jay finally has the opportunity to do what he wants and not worry about sales. If anytime, it's now when he can take chances and truly make the music he wants, and not worry about pleasing people. Lets see what happens.

If you actually read those reviews, you would realize they're not criticizing it that much.

Essentially, it's a good casual album, not a masterpiece or anything.

The #1 reason why I don't take critical reviews seriously is because they rarely tell the listener what they wanna know. Should I buy/listen to this album or not? Reviews rarely answer that question. They give an album some stars, a number rating, or a letter grade then proceed to give a review that doesn't even support the rating they gave it. Rarely does a review do it's job anymore. For example, a review will call an album an enjoyable listen, but it won't get any more than 3 stars, a B grade, or a 3/5. Then there's the review of an album that's given a masterpiece rating of a 5/5, but the review is only a paragraph long.
