Getting called out is a part of the coli, but people still bristle. Thus we end up with threads like these. Heavy on fukkery, light on reasonable and factual discourse.
That said let's also be fair. I usually have few political disagreements with people who engaged with you like @DonKnock. Usually the only wrong shyt he posts are championship predictions for Houston teams. Beyond that he is solid.
2016 brings a lot of revisionist recollections, as will 2020. It's the nature of politics. It would be great If we could step back and be honest with ourselves about the opinions raised then and the consequences of entertaining the Hillary is a war hawk silliness, but guess what? The same will happen with the 2020 candidate. In fact, it's already started.
I don't get the impression they were pretending the people you criticized people don't exist. I think they feel like you labelled all or most leftists with that brush, which would be unfair to do and they feel that they aren't the same as the people you are highlighting, which you are free to debate with them.
