Je’von losing to Ethan, you can rationalize that one.

But there’s no excuse for having Trick lose to DJ Tatanka even if he is being called up. I know the NXT men’s roster is thin as shyt but surely someone else could’ve been put over.

This is not even getting into the horrible optics of it being a strap match in fukking February :snoop:
Je'Von being too emotional and not being 100% healthy and losing to the savvy vet actually advances the story, whereas Trick losing really deflated the atmosphere and made no sense. HHH basically let HBK use the black wrestlers to build up the NXT brand, and now that it's popular he's going to bush them and push his new favorites.

Wrestlemania 39 was everything that was already set in place by Vince. Do you really think it was HHH's idea to have Cena face Theory? I'm also sure that it was Vince/Roman's call to keep the belt on Roman. The reason I say WM40 was still Vince in a way is because that was the finality of the Vince regime from all areas. This Wrestlemania caps off the 1st year of HHH being 100% in charge.

I say that WrestleMania 39 was Triple H's because it was the first one with him being the head of creative. The product went through a noticeable shift after July 2022 and 39 was highly praised, capping off the nine months beforehand. I want to believe he had a hand in that. The RAW after WrestleMania was universally panned and we know Vince was around for that. Hell, everyone was afraid Vince was back full-time after that.

WrestleMania XL was 100% Triple H. The documentary went out of its way to state this. The card was finished in October, Cody was the centerpiece and the only impediment to Triple H's plans was The Rock coming back. It was meant to be him officially taking the throne and will most likely be the defining moment of his era.

WrestleMania 41 doesn't feel like the beginning or end of anything. It's just another Mania. Vince left for good in January 2024, the last remnants of his creative involvement disappeared in 2023, Triple H has had the book for almost three years now, the transitional period officially ended a year ago. I'll say that if this one isn't up to par, people will start questioning the quality of the Triple H era, but it's been his era for a long time now.

See that right there is where you lose me because you basically said HHH was responsible for the good and the bad stuff was Vince, yet you also say he was head of creative so the bad would also have to be HHH's fault as well. If Vince was responsible for the horrible RAW after Mania then he was responsible for Mania 39. We also don't have to wait until after Mania to question his quality of work because you're in a thread where we're calling out his very questionable/racist booking.

Aye man, I’m not leaning that way, but there’s a lot of little things that look so suspect when it comes to Haitch and his relationship with his Black Talent.

— His forgetting to highlight Tez’s star making performance in the EC a few years ago, and doing the same with Lash’s performance in the rumble when he mentioned all the other NXT Girls.

— The “I don’t see color, I see talent” comment after people pointed out the lack of visibility with black stars under him.

— Keeping Bianca in the Tag Team division, flip flopping between depriving the singles division of another star or mismanaging the tag team division when he decides to place her in world title matches.

I’m not saying he’s wearing the white hood, nor am I saying i wanna shoot him some bail. But it’s weird that we’re 2 and a half years into his being in charge and there’s valid concerns persisting about the black talent and how they’ll be utilized under him.

What did I say that confused you? If Triple H was head of creative after Vince left, that means he's directly responsible for everything that has to do with the booking, good and bad. Literally everyone's pointed out the shift in quality after Vince left, and Triple H getting promoted is a major factor in that. Unless you think WWE is no different since Triple H took over, and it sounds like that's what you think, I don't know what to tell you. There were multiple reports coming out that Vince had a hand in the RAW after WrestleMania 39. Everyone was saying it felt like a Vince show. Bryan Alvarez had a meltdown over it, wondering if the eight months before that were meaningless. Vince's style is distinctive enough that people can notice it, good or bad.

When I'm talking about WrestleMania 41, I don't mean the people here. We complain about Triple H's booking enough. I'm talking about the general public. Wrestling fans everywhere are going to be like :patrice:if this WrestleMania isn't up to par. The standards are higher now and what we talk about here is going to become more widespread if 41 doesn't hit the mark.

You said WM39 was HHH's because he was head of creative but Vince was still in charge during that time so which is it? WWE is different since HHH took over which again is the point of this thread, since HHH took over the black talent has been pushed to the back in favor of the white wrestlers. Even with HHH in charge now there are still things that haven't changed, but people pretend that it's completely different because they like HHH and hate Vince. The standards probably need to be lowered because Smackdown has become one of the most boring wrestling shows on TV.

Vince stepped down in July 2022 and retired a month later. He became executive chairman in January 2023, but as far as his creative involvement, that ended the moment he stepped down. He wasn't booking anything. That's why wrestlers started talking about how much better the work environment was and the product started getting more praise. It has less to do with "fukk Vince" and more to do with the fact that the booking became more competent. The micromanagement and last-minute changes were gone.

Let me ask you, how much shine was black talent getting under Vince? Was WWE ever a great place for black wrestlers, or is Triple H just continuing the tradition of white talent being on top for generations? Also, what happened in 2020 that made companies everywhere take a step back to show just how much they appreciated the efforts of black people?

Nah We can't rationalize Je'von losing.... there was dudes telling me the face has to get his comeuppance when Damian Priest beat Finn Balor in EVERY match that they had and beat Judgement day down 5V1 every week. By all logical explanation as per the "Let it play out Posse" Je'von should've won.

Ethan Page got the upperhand repeatedly even fukked up Cedric which can be excused (you get the win over the face's partner to further the heel shyt) but to get the win in the match the way he did wasn't it

If they wanna further Ethan Page on the path he is on they could've had Je'von win and then Page snuff him after the match and run off or something. I'm not gonna let these "wins and loses don't matter" dudes twist the script to fit a narrative and distort it when black wrestlers are in the same situation but don't get the same outcome

Too much narrative twisting in these threads.

Trick is going to the main roster so it was ok to lose..... but Trick wasn't in the Royal Rumble this year or last year?

What NXT STAR especially in recent time goes to the main roster without a rumble appearance? Especially someone that is over with the crowd and has his own chant.... you know how much WWE loves people chanting shyt. Whoop that trick can easily be yeet level.

The optics of a fukking strap match in February is what the issue is. Nobody gives a fukk about Eddy Thorpe beating Trick Williams in a match. There's certain implications with a black man getting whipped in general so the fact that they made a strap match during black history month is absurd in itself... and then to have the black man lose the match takes it to another level.

And this Eddy Thorpe "I need to get justice for my people" shyt. Natives and black people don't have the best relationship in some spaces. So is Eddy implying that justice for his people comes with taking out black wrestlers? Because he said that shyt to Oba and he said that shyt to Trick. Where was this justice for his people when Lexis King was literally being RACIST to him?

Eddy Thorpe lying and saying he got attacked and blaming it on a black man....then whipping black men with straps..... what the fukk is really going on here? Out of all the weapons he could've choose, that was it? Nah

might be wrong. But I don't recall Grayson Waller or ilja DRAGUNOV were in the rumble the year they got called up.

Heck I don't even think gunther did the rumble in 2022 either. just lost to Bron breaker and dipped.

I've already mentioned my piece regarding eddy Thorpe in another thread. That's why I clipped that part out. I don't have a whole spiel on it since I don't watch NXT much but I shared something

Vince changed one of the winners for 39 so it definitely was not a 100% Triple H show

Most bookers don't pull off three straight years of excellent writing and storytelling, it's just too difficult to do it. I'm not making an excuse for Triple H or his booking of black wrestlers or anything like that, I'm just saying I'm not surprised that this year has been a decline from last year so far.
