Do you use the call block feature on your phone?You know the memes, the one liners....about how someone is so “quick” to cut someone off over the most petty things...
Most people who spout this over & over are oftentimes toxic people themselves....and are cowards, instead of confronting a problem head on alotta times they just cut this person off. Then enter another situation and instead of confronting it, they cut them off AGAIN..
and with the advent of the pandemic, u keep “cutting” everyone off till ur in a financial rut & need a place to stay till u get on ur feet..oh thats right, u cut everyone off
Im not saying to NOT cut off people who are toxic & are harmful..... but the cut off culture encourages cutting off people for the most mundane things....
I know people like this irl and in reality when they cut someone off it’s bc a person doesnt kiss their ass or cosign them all the time....
The “I cut off people for the smallest things these days” memesoften get reposted by birdbrains....
The "cutoff" attitude is just a trending personality and post to make like all things in social media just like "Stacking"

As a rule of thumb, if you gotta saying ad naseum, you really ain’t about that life. And if you can’t maintain successful relationships with people then you probably doing them a favor by “cutting” them off. Nothing funnier than somebody trying to cut others off that don’t even notice they gone...
But poser cut off energy is even more irritating to me.
This is when people claim they cutting people off but really just waste time complaining about the people they claimed to cut off for attention. It looks desperate. If you done with somebody frfr, you don’t have to make an announcement. Usually you only giving PSAs about it for validation. Just do it and be done. But don’t try and stick around to throw shade or keep complaining about them either.Or just resolve the issues you had with them. It really ain’t gotta be that deep.

That shyt will come back to bite you unless you are an opportunistic sociopath who has a clear gameplan behind their actions. Those are the people who actually who I believe popularized it. It just got stratified to the victims so that they end up doing it to cope with their lack of character and accountability. Most people aren’t tho.
