Dude was from the south.

I know he's from Texas but he's a West Coast rapper. His sound, his affiliation, his music is all from the West

Kurupt is from Philly, but nobody calls him a East Coast rapper. Nobody considers Pac an East Coast rapper, nobody considers Ludacris a Chicago rapper, nobody considers Waka a Queens rapper and so on and so forth

very, very talented emcee and gifted songwriter as well as ghostwriter

the d.o.c. had everythin' it takes to be a great emcee. the voice, flow, delivery, rhymes etc etc

he's hands down the best ghostwriter of all time. he's helped to contribute to some of the most influential hip hop album of all time

his 2nd album aint too bad either..he just sounds like a horror movie villain on the shyt...listen to D.O.C.'s sophmore LP in a dark ass corny and try not to get freaked out

sucks tho, he was lyrically gifted...he was like the middle ground between everyone in NWA and Snoop..mix them all up and you get DOC.

but DOC did some fukkboy shyt and took all them Dre/Cube "Heltah Skelter" records that he was writing for their album and put that shyt out KNOWING it would sound like trash with this fukked up voice.

Imagine if Dre/Cube put that shyt out after Natural Born Killaz. It woulda been a fukkin smash

yes. DOC felt some type of way about how he was being treated at Death Row and left the label and took everything he worked on for the album. He recorded it and put it out as Helter Skelter just to spite Dre

DOC has had a few smart/dumb nikka moments.

that car crash didn't help

Then he signed a bullshyt deal with Jerry/Eazy and when his cash got low he gave his publishing to them for some $ and jewelry.

When it was time to form Death Row, he was supposedly one of the founders but Suge/Dre/David Kenner pulled the okey doke on him and squeeze him, Harry-O and dikk Griffey (the r&b music version of Suge)

But he was valuable as a ghostwriter so Dre kept him around to write for him, Snoop, etc

If only DOC had got his shyt together and went through with that therapy / operation, duke could have been spitting with the best of them today :sadcam:
