One of the greatest writers in hip-hop set out to prove Dr. Dre wrong, who said he shouldn't rap because he "doesn't have it anymore" . . so when you listen to this album, songwriting should be at the forefront of your mind and you'll quickly realize why the performance aspects of music are so important . . this was in all likelihood right along the lines of the material that Dr. Dre and Ice Cube would've been performing (at least Dr. Dre, who would of likely enjoyed the lyrical prowess of both The D.O.C. and Ice Cube)

Can you make it all the way through the album? . . one of the best songwriters of our time

Not a good album to me. Welcome to the New World is about the only thing I can listen to on the album. His voice did not help encourage a second spin of it also.

I still listen to this album once or twice a year, and personally I dont have an issue with DOC voice, it doesn't sound bad to me at all. I get its night and day from how it sounded in 89 but it sounds dope especially with the subject matter imo.
