Jon Stewart had years to get into his groove. Did u see old reviews of Stewart? This is only the first night. Besides it's about time Jon left. He's been coasting for a while off his rep. When great moments happen and he just did softball jokes making layups it was time for him to MOVE ON. I like Trevor Noah so far. Give it 2 months

word. i remember thinking wow it's been a while since I actually LOL during TDS. most of the time I smile, maybe chuckle but really laugh?..hmm ...nah. Trevor can stay. It's been a while since i watched TDS too
I love stewart and ive been watching tds for what 15 years or so?
The show had become stale the last couple years. It had devolved into a pissing contest with fox news. Every episode was about fox news pretty much. It was still tds and jon really killed the earnest,cut through the bullshyt moments after national tragedies that you really felt his sincerity. But other than those moments the show had been coasting for a while now.
Word. As entertaining as fox news contest got, eventually I got bored. I only came back when an article says Stewart had another no bs moment and I give the headnod. But you're right. Other than that...meh
Prety much. Casually looking at twitter and fb the reaction was surprisingly almost overwhelmingly positive which is insane considering how much hate he was getting and people seemed to want him to fail.
He completely set the audience at ease adresseing everything with a very smart monologue to open the show.
And roy wood jr the new correspondent absolutely stole the show,he had me in tears. And correspondents have always been the backbone of the show.
