Maaaaan..... EYE been thru a lot. D got fat, grew titties & a pork chop face. I like the album more than I thought i would. But bougie nikkas really ought check themselves critically. you can't blindly jock a nikka cuz he's weird and took 14 years. Album has 3-4 jms TOPS. If i'm lyin' i'm flyin'.

black messiah is a really really good album, better voodoo. however, it's not that far removed from voodoo yet it's still a few steps up from it though. black messiah is like the sequel to voodoo, mastered. it's like he mastered what he was tryin' to do on voodoo with black messiah

with all that said, brown sugar is still his best album and my favorite album by d'angelo. that album is perfect from start to finish

I played it twice on my way to Columbus on Saturday. It's not as great as ppl claim. My favorite song is Charade.

After spinnin it a 2nd time, I put my phone on shuffle and the 1st 13 songs that played were better than any song on the new D'angelo.

And @ whoever said this is a "ready for war" album. Nah, stop it

No one needs "Big Mel's" approval, this is the highest rated new album in probably the history of Metacritic and the most universally praised album among the people I have ever seen. Nothing will be 100% loved, so thats fine that you aren't big into it. Why didn't you just post this in the big thread instead?

Sugah Daddy & 1000 Deaths are my favorites on the album. I think the album is pretty good but not as good as Brown Sugar like @stomachlines said.
