I too slept on A.I. for years but I have awakened. Progress is being made exponentially. A little more than a year ago it was inconceivable that people would be able to generate amazing images based on text input. Now we're creating videos. It isn't too hard to forsee mini films being made by A.I. by the end of the year. Its important to remember that A.I. is currently the worse it will ever be. It will only get more powerful from here.Man stop with these dumbass AI posts

This looks awful.
A year ago MidJourney images didn't look too great either. The time when we wont be able to distinguish whether a movie is A.I. generated or not is coming sooner than you think.

I’m not sleeping, but AI affecting art is not going to be as much of a problem as people think
It’s going to have a bigger impact on other things. Art is going to be art whether movies, cartoons, music, etc.. that comes from imagination and creativity. They said the same things about other tools that are now widely accepted in the industries
I wouldn’t give that much of a care about AI with this as much as I would care about AI with other things.

Lol as far as Ai growing exponentially. Yes. That is a likely possibility. But what we have so far is a system that relies quite heavily on scraping the internet. Its data is a combination of intellectual properties millions of schmucks around the world unwittingly gave away by posting them on the web.
If AI scares you, the only meaningful thing you can do to slow it down is to resist the temptation to post niche/specialized information on the internet.
With regards to those of you who write code. I mean the real IT folks on here. Understand this, the idea of open source is primarily what allowed AI / or chatgpt to be more specific, to become the threat that it is today. Open source is great. But trust me, you’d be a fool to believe everything you do has to be open sourced.
