Some highlights
Show was shutdown due to too many potential scandals that Nick was worried about
Allegedly Victoria Justice wouldn't sleep with Dan Schneider so he gave her a less prominent role in the show and bad mouthed her to Hollywood resulting in less roles later on
Ariana Grande slept with Dan to get bigger roles and her own spin-off
Liz Gillies was dating a 30 something man while still a teen
The usual sex and drugs you'd expect from a TV show

So what great talent could this grotesque fat fukk have that made it overlooked for so long if it wasn’t a company wide thing?

MJ was maybe the greatest performer of all time (yes he did weird shyt with kids). Roman Polanski was a absolutely brilliant filmmaker. Both got popped and rightfully. Why’d it take this fukk so much longer?

Hiding in plain sight
Exactly. All this metoo shyt only seems shocking if you haven't been paying attention. When you watch the movies and shows made by these people, you see what's really on their mind. You couldn't make a movie like leon the professional today because people would (correctly) point out how fukked up it is that the main character's 'love interest' is a 10 year old.

Or the commercial for jeans with brooke shields back when she was younger than 16. They been on that rape/pedo shyt and at this point they have so much power they don't need to hide it at all because they know the most that's going to happen is some hashtags and outrage for a few weeks but then nothing. They have the best lawyers money can buy, and a lot of the judges in the country hang out with these guys. There's a two tiered justice system in America. If you've got money you can buy your way out of jail like epstein did multiple times before he 'committed suicide' in jail. They don't even need to bother making the suicide convincing because they know nobody is going to actually do anything to stop them.

There's no proof that MJ ever did anything with kids and he was acquitted when he was alive.

But to answer your question, Dan created damn near every successful Nickelodeon live-action show over the course of twenty years. Those shows built stars and people who weren't the main characters in one show could parlay that into getting their own show and becoming a bigger star. He was also creatively involved in All That and Kenan and Kel and was an executive producer/writer for both shows. His sense of humor gave his shows a flavor that was different from other live-action shows for kids. Even now, his shows still haven't been caught up with in terms of quality.

Dan built an empire on Nickelodeon and made a lot of money for a lot of people. If you needed a hit show, you got him to make it. This led to him having an untouchable status and the ability to do whatever he wanted, no matter how much of an abusive a$$hole he was. He was a walking ATM for Nickelodeon. It's no coincidence that he was let go once his shows stopped being profitable like that and his demands weren't justified by the shows' success/quality.
