the day that my parents sat me down and told me that my father (who was married to my mom at the time) cheated on her, and had another kid on the side. the same night, my mom takes me with her to the side's house in order to have a confrontation. Both parents caught Ls that day, set off years of dysfuction, shytz never been the same. This was just one incident of many from the dysfunctional family starter kit. No family foundation is strong based on lies and lack of trust. Leaving home as an adult was Leveled up and made better/smarter decisions than they did. Lesson learned - "if it wasn't for the struggle, then I wouldn't be me"

They're dumb now that they're older tho. Always need help with tech and stuff.

Wouldn't call them dumb, it was more a realization that some of their decisions on shyt was dumb
Also peeping how they snaked certain people when growing up i was automatically on their side but as an adult i'm viewing them situations like

Brb both ADOS with no criminal record
Brb both graduated from a HBCU and then got Master's degrees (#bootstrapped)
Brb are 6 certs, 6 figs and give back to others
Brb both are financially literate and are set for retirement
Brb both raised kids who also graduated and have never been in trouble
Brb both stayed together and built (been going strong for over 35 years)

My parents seem pretty smart to me.
