In childhood time seemed to last so long because you lived in every moment and experienced more through your senses, as you grow up you learn more and analyze more instead of experiencing, which makes time speed up as you reduce everything into abstract ideas/images useful to process, store, and understand.

They say time goes faster the older you get.

I mean, I'm 30 now, I can remember what I was doing ten years ago, and I can remember what I was doing 20 years ago...one and two decades seemed to pass like it was nothing.

I'll admit, growing older gets scary sometimes, I worry about my family, seeing them get old. Worry about the future...but I appreciate the fact I'm still alive and well and have been through and have seen so much.
