here's the sad truth, and i don't think i'm saying anything new here.

every card is basically the same.

whether it's a weekly show like raw or smackdown, or a monthly ppv like battleground, or even a "major" show like summerslam... lately over the past several years there really hasn't been much of a difference. look no further than this upcoming struggleslam if you must. remove the part timers from the equation and what you have left is essentially sunday night raw. and mind you this is supposed to be - and is being billed as - a major event.

but we know there are no major events anymore. the same talent being featured on ppv is the same talent that is featured on monday night raw. it's the same talent, it's the same matches, and it's the same inconsequential outcomes. there's nothing really major about it. in fact there's a solid chance you'll get the same exact show the next night on raw just shuffled around a bit.

the wwe "season" has literally no flow to it anymore. there are no more major events to build to. no playoff atmosphere anymore, no championship game. hell i'm not even sure if there's a regular season. you could make the argument that wwe is in exhibition year round!

It's hard to book when WWE only has two current wrestlers with real Star power....Rollins and Lesnar.

Forgot who here said it, but each PPV should be called Sunday Night Raw

Maybe its the 6 straight free months theyve given out?

Maybe its the unabashed racism?

Maybe its because they dont like the product?

No... no... its because they want to pay 4.99 for Sunday Night Raw. :stopitslime:
Weve all known this for years but everyone but the trolls are admitting this aloud

I think OP is talking about the creative aspect rather than the business.
I agree with what was said in the OP. But looking at an event like Summerslam is proof that they still can book big events because they sold out a whole weekend in one venue.

WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and SummerSlam are the only events Vince wants people to care about. I think the card coming up is good, might not be a smark favorite but it sells tickets.

and yet even those shows are major events in name only. it's still the same talent wrestling in the same matches. do i need to remind you just how terrible the storylines were heading into this year's mania? or how the rumble amounted to absolutely nothing?

the wwe's idea of a "major" event in 2015 is almost the same as raw... only there's a brock lesnar match.
