I think I mentioned this in the RAW thread. Outside of SummerSlam they are on cruise control between April and December. Every year people get hyped in January only to start shytting on the product around September.

They've basically waved the white flag to MNF.

Feels like they're planning to be on cruise control between New Year's Day and New Year's Eve this year :heh:

These nikkas just sold out an NBA arena 3 nights in a row :mindblown:

What world are you guys living in :heh:

No it's not as big as it was but they still do business for the big events they try to build towards,

yep.

My onlly beef is they use the same set-up for RAW and ppvs. They need to design a PPV set and just use it for every basic ppv not named WM, RR, SumS, SurS.

IMO, the product is still better than it was in the Miz/Cena/Rock coming back every 10 months era.

When you boast 3 hours of Raw, yet fail to add to the roster and fail to book squash matches, you ruin your market. It is comparable to having an NFL team playing both conferences, every season, without an offseason.

The best teams might make it to the Superbowl, but you've seen it played already.

It's hard to book when WWE only has two current wrestlers with real Star power....Rollins and Lesnar.

Undertaker and Roman Reigns are two of WWE's 3 top draws. The other, John Cena, exhausted his slate of opponents.

They had to drop him out of the World Title scene to keep him fresh.

WWE writers killed the supershow because they aren't creative. ECW understood this challenge and that's why they refused to give away their main events and headline tag matches on their weekly programs.

and yet even those shows are major events in name only. it's still the same talent wrestling in the same matches. do i need to remind you just how terrible the storylines were heading into this year's mania? or how the rumble amounted to absolutely nothing?

the wwe's idea of a "major" event in 2015 is almost the same as raw... only there's a brock lesnar match.

Undertaker is 50 years old.

Roman Reigns has no promo and his in ring skills are weak as fukk plus he's the only babyface i ever seen an entire arena boo.

John Cena is for little kids to buy T-Shirts, no one over age 13 should care about him.

Rollins & Lesnar are the best two guys since Rock & Austin.

Undertaker is 50 years old, and fans buy tickets to see him.

John Cena is a star and people go out of their way to watch him on supershows or on payperviews/WWE Network.

And Brock remains hot because we never get to see him.

However, I didn't mention Roman, and no, he is not a star. Few people would spend money to see him wrestle. WWE is grooming him but he's not ready to put arses in seats.

SummerSlam, The Royal Rumble, and Wrestlemania is the only events now. The rest are not even PPV levels, as the struggle is apparent. The next few years will be interesting for sure with the Dunn-HHH feud.

You got me thinking on this while I sit with the Queen watching 90's movies.

WWE needs to expand its roster. They need at least 9 more wrestlers to keep their match ups fresh. If you are going to have 3 hours of Raw every week, then you need 9 singles wrestlers that can be rotated in and out.

Assuming that WWE still refuses to respect tag teams, you have to rely on your midcard so that audiences maintain interest in the Main Eventers.

here's the sad truth, and i don't think i'm saying anything new here.

every card is basically the same.

whether it's a weekly show like raw or smackdown, or a monthly ppv like battleground, or even a "major" show like summerslam... lately over the past several years there really hasn't been much of a difference. look no further than this upcoming struggleslam if you must. remove the part timers from the equation and what you have left is essentially sunday night raw. and mind you this is supposed to be - and is being billed as - a major event.

but we know there are no major events anymore. the same talent being featured on ppv is the same talent that is featured on monday night raw. it's the same talent, it's the same matches, and it's the same inconsequential outcomes. there's nothing really major about it. in fact there's a solid chance you'll get the same exact show the next night on raw just shuffled around a bit.

the wwe "season" has literally no flow to it anymore. there are no more major events to build to. no playoff atmosphere anymore, no championship game. hell i'm not even sure if there's a regular season. you could make the argument that wwe is in exhibition year round!

They need to change there complete style of booking

Need more jobbers and regular mid carders around to feed to upper guys

Nobody wins anymore it's all 50-50 booking

Need to make an actual tag division
Where a team like lucha dragons can get over if given weekly matches

can't just have them appear once a few months be thrown into a ppv match with no wins

Titles need to be defended more on tv so when they do actually win or lose it's a bigger deal

Some guys need to miss a week of raw and smackdown once in awhile

Seth shouldn't be doing the same promo every week on raw there should be some weeks where he's not even on

Same as Cena so it no longer feels the same always

Back in the 90s when nitro was at it's hot tests what made it special was not really knowing what was gonna happen

Sometimes you had hogan, sting

Sometimes you just had DDP and savage

Sometimes you had Nash and hall just talking shyt the whole show

Sometimes they had nobody big in the show

But every show felt different and like you had to make sure you saw it

This. But none of this will happen and the same discussion will be brought up again, at next years Summerslam :russ:

The storylines and segments are ass. If they could make interesting segments you wouldn't have to keep just throwing guys in matches every Monday which becomes redundant since they end up facing the same guys. Guys like Austin hardly ever wrestled on RAW but his segments were so interesting he didn't have to. When he did wrestle on RAW or a ppv it was a big deal. There is no big deal in WWE anymore..everyone is watching out of habit not because they are excited to see what happens. When I watch Walking Dead or Power I'm excited to see what's gonna unfold this week. When I watch RAW or a PPV I'm watching for fukkery so I can laugh with you brehs. Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania are the only times I actually get excited for WWE programming.
