The west coast has seemingly been able to become relevant again time after time while NY hip-hop hasn't really had a standout in a good minute:manny:.

I guess I'm biased being from the Left Coast but NY hip-hop seems like its just holding onto the glory days and no one from NY is really making waves unless you guys consider them A$AP nikkas and French Montana part of the new NY :mjpls:

Imo the east coast always had the better technical rappers but the west coast always made better music

:what:

You say the dumbest shyt.
The premise of this entire thread is DUMB...At least I am basing my opinion on FACTS...

(1) 2Pac has SOLD more records than Nas...He has had a BIGGER global and local impact than Nas...He has a BETTER album catalogue than Nas (you Nas fans are going to disagree, but in general, 2Pac has a BIGGER following than Nas)...

(2) The majority of the biggest selling records in Hip Hop are West Coast, Mid-West and Southern influenced...East Coast is weak when you look at the NUMBERS...

What's the point of having these arguments if we are going to IGNORE the ONLY OBJECTIVE factor which is NUMBERS...?

An opinion NOT based on FACTS (objective data that can be PROVEN) is DUMB...

Numbers tell the WHOLE the story when you put them in the proper context...

Ask any number of people you want to list their top 10 rappers, I bet you money more of them are from NY than anywhere else. :yeshrug:

Yeah, NY has put out some questionable shyt lately, but there's not denying it's the heart and brain of the rap world, and in the context of the last 20 years, it's been bigger.

Big, Jay, Nas, Rakim, KRS, BDK, KGR, Wu, Mobb Deep, Premo.. the list goes on and on and on.

We'll in the 90s the west had the rap game on lock,,we were killing it in the mainstream..the underground back pack movement, and the independent gangsta rap music..we had way more styles..from Ras Kass, spice one , hiero, pharcyde, e 40, all the Bay Area rappers, death row..new York couldn't fukk with our flows, lyrics ,and versatile styles..they had a few like redman, a few out the wu, and Nas..and that was about it..we just had way more better rappers..the only thing the east had was barely beats..they flipped samples a lil better than us..but that's about it..
