Vinateri + Pats D wo those first 2 SBs but folk talking about Brady like he was willing those first 2 SB squads to victory. Brady threw 1 TD the entire playoffs on that first ring. A ring he shouldn't have even gotten. Had a kicker that kicked the game winning FG. While Peyton had a kicker who missed game winning fgs and yall wanna say it isn't a team sport? Brady willing his squads?

Fk outta here. Brady is not in the Montana discussion any more than Peyton is. Yall focus way too much on rings and discount how many things need to go right to win a championship. Marino is right up in there with GOAT discussion and he never won a ring.

This is my favorite nonsensical argument from the anti-Brady brigade :mjlol:

It was the kicker and the D won the Carolina game? Did you even watch that game? We put up 32 points on the Panthers. Vinetari missed a 31 yarder earlier in that game. The D squandered a two score 4th quarter lead in that game. Tom then got us 7 more with just under 3 minutes left....and then the D squandered that. Then Brady led us into FG range and a great kicker did his job, making a 41 yard FG.

The first Super Bowl was more about the D. I, like many Pat's fans felt Ty Law should've been MVP. That D held the greatest show on turf in check. But Tom Brady was definitely next on that list. He didn't have a spectacular game, but he kept us in it and put us in a position to win it. Only when it comes to Brady do folks act like driving your team into FG range is some easy task that any ol QB could do. Manning in that situation is far more likely to throw the game losing interception (the Saints say thank you, Peyton, for being you). In that first Super Bowl, John Madden was pleading with the Patriots to take a knee and play for overtime, but now all the Brady haters are trying to diminish what it took to get that done, like it was a given they'd get ino FG range.

And Tom wasn't setting Vinetari up with 55 yarders, 41 and 48 are kicks you expect you kicker to make. I'd love to see a comparison of 40-50 yard FG pct to the number of drives started in the last 60 seconds that successfully make it into FG range.

It took Brady his 6th playoff game before he could muster more than 1 TD pass. He played well against the Panthers but my point is, he had the luxury of a great team and great coaching that were able to carry him. Peyton did not. If Peyton put up such weak passing numbers he would have lost, big.... The whole "but but but Peyton is a choker". Son had the same or better numbers than Brady to start out but his teams couldn't pull out the victories.

That's why it's dumb to look at rings and use that to determine who's better. Damn, just say you think Brady is better and keep it moving. Just don't talk to me about choking and rings and all that BS.

People forget Adam missed 2 FGs in the SB against the panthers. He makes those in the first half and it never comes down to the last kick at the end

:heh: So you just want to make it a team game when it doesn't favor your guy. Montana had the most loaded teams out of all these QBs in the discussion but somehow he is untouchable. From 1981-1992 the 49ers defense ranked inside the top 4 in pts against 10 out of 12 years. I won't even get started on the offensive HOFers. He turned the team over to Young and they won another ring so everybody can miss me with the Matt Cassell argument who went 9-6 as a starter, missed the playoffs and was handed a team returning from a 16-0 regular season the year before.
Peyton, the year he won his SB, threw 3 touchdowns and 7 picks but you don't want to take that away from his resume right? Good, because you shouldn't. He had a chance to win the bowl against the Saints and nutted up. He couldn't even take the first snap against the Seahawks without nutting up. 2 years ago against Baltimore, pick six to put the nail in the coffin. This man has been to the playoffs 14 times with quite a few first round byes and has one ring, and that was won in spite of him. He had a great career, top 5 DOA, but not a goat candidate in my eyes. He is not a better QB than Montana or Brady.

It has always been a team game. You and some others like to always single out a goat and a star.

People forgetting a lot of shyt.....why is the Panthers game any different? That was Brady's 6th playoff game BTW. It was about time he did something.

I still did not see Vinateri missing game winning kicks like Vanderjagt, though. Vanderjagt was tossed out the league and Adam's STILL playing. Speaks volumes.

Folk wanna remember every single detail to prop up Brady, but their minds become real couldy when discussing Peyton. As if he didn't have nikkaz fukking up all over the field.

But you consider Montana goat right, judging by your dap of @Front 2 Back ? Based on what? And if you do, can I assume you weren't watching his superbowl runs with a critical eye, unless you were in your 20s in the early 80s?
