For years Dirk played on stacked teams when he was a youngster. Cuban wheeled and dealed trading picks and players to get veterans and young talent. As the Dirk got older Cuban wasn't as lucky getting free agents and didn't hit on any young players like in the past. Then you add the dry powder shyt and how he and Dirk really didn't give a shyt the year they were going for a repeat (Dirk came to camp out of shape and Cuban didn't sign Tyson Chandler).
The shyt has been an absolute cluster fukk since they won their championship. Reminds me how arrogant Krause and Reinsdorf were after the Bulls dynasty was broken up. Walking around talking how easy it would be to build a championship team. Having salary cap every year and couldn't sign a single star player.
Dallas in yen same boat and that is why I said Dirk was stupid as hell to take a pay cut (even though we know Cuban is taking care of him even if it is money under the table) because there was no guarantee they would get great star player free agents. Only team that consistently gets those players (in the history of the NBA) through the draft and free agency is the lakers.
Anyway like I said the NBA is ashes to ashes and dust to dust league. The first will be the last and the last will be the first.
