I think the fear over the Supreme Court is overblown. Conservatives have become more liberal with social policy in recent years. Theres still a strong fight again the progression but a lot of Conservatives are coming around. Obama's first election all the Repubs were fully anti-gay rights. Today, many of them are at least neutral and can see that their families and friends are being affected. Obviously, there won't be AS much progression with a conservative vs liberal judge but I don't think its the end of the world.

I think this election has dealt a death blow to polling. I think a lot of the pollsters wanted Hillary to win and projected their desires into their methodologies

Plus the media shamed Trump voters out of being able to self identify and speak freely

They only changed tact because Obama was able to put pressure on them. They have zero resistance now. You are kidding yourself if you think the GOP is going to move left after this election. This election is a validation of, among other things, hard right social conservatism. I'm hearing a lot of hemming and hawing about this election being a triumph over PCism and "hypertolerance".

The Dems did not court populists. When Bernie Sanders came on the scene you laughed at him. When he started to build momentum the DNC undermined him. All you see is "white anger" because you've been conditioned by neoliberals to blame racism for the Democrats' failures. And I need receipts on that low turnout... though as awful as these candidates are, AND with all the fukkery of the DNC, I would not be surprised. But watching MSNBC last night it looked like turnout was high
