Ehhh thus is usually standard procedure for shyt like this in case he isn't found guilt or if there is a hung jury. They are just doing preparation if there is riots.

No doubt

I’ve spent the last year normalizing things like predator drones flying above, waking up checking the news hoping all hell didn’t break loose overnight again. driving in downtown traffic with military vehicles casually cruising on the same routes I work in, go to the gym in.

Seeing cats in full military get ups with all their weapons walking around near farmers markets, targets etc

might be standard procedure sure but it still feels shytty living in the middle of it.

I really want Derek Chauvin to be found guilty of murder but let's be real here....what is ANY defence lawyer supposed to do? He's doing his job. I thought he made some stupid arguments but ultimately his job is to show that not all elements of the offence can be proved beyond reasonable doubt. He's doing a job for his client.
:yeshrug:

Do you have the same energy for OJ Simpson's defence team?

I think no matter WHO the person was to represent Chauvin, everyone would automatically hate him. I don't think he's a particularly likeable character either, but still...

Or are you suggesting how could he even pick up the case to begin with knowing the truth of the matter? That's definitely food for thought.
The latter. But I get it people got a job to do regardless of how immoral it might be.

Of course, I’ve seen saying this the entire time.

It’s shameful how I know we’ll take the bait. Hell, I’d rather him walk than get off with a BS manslaughter charge. This is bigger than him, we’re talking about cognitive realization of black people in this country. This is an opportunity, just like what happened in LA.

We need that shock. We’re still accepting this system.
Counter insurgency 101. You give the opposition something so you divide the militants from the moderates. They will charge him with manslaughter to prevent riots and protest. Give this false sense of security until the next high profile murder of another black man in 4-5 months. We have seen this time and time again. They wont allow something like him getting off to black pill black America. They want our community to stay asleep and content with minor victories. This what they always do.

Exactly. Throw us a concession and make a situation like this harder for this to happen in the future. Tactical innovation.

If he doesn't get convicted I feel this will be the catalyst to something big. Many black people are just fed up and rightfully embittered with the system. This will come back to haunt America for decades to come..
True, but in this case, there would be 3 black men setting him free. Just like in the Philando Castille trial. There were 4 black people who voted not guilty. If they were to let him go (which I highly doubt will happen), wouldn't this one be on the people? To be real, the government has done it's job. It was a solidly presented prosecution. Now it's in the hands of 12 citizens, 3 of them black, I believe 2 are mixed.

There are levels to this. I don't put this case and the Philando Castille case in the same category as Eric Garner, Tamir Rice and a bunch of others. Those officers were never even charged. In this case, the government did what they are supposed to do. Prosecuted this man for murder despite the fact that he's a white cop. And they did a solid job. If Chauvin walks, it's because of those 12 citizens.

Reading the description of the jurors there is no way they convict on all 3 charges :snoop:

Juror 79:

A Black man in his 40s. He works as a manager and says he has been a victim of home burglary in the past and the police came to help. He believes minorities are often arrested but disagrees with the concept of "defunding" law enforcement and said, "the police do a lot. ... I would trust the police." :camby:

5 white woman in their 50's :mindblown:

If shyt takes longer than tomorrow it won't be looking good
They have a lot of options to consider. I expect that will complicate things and they may be doing some willing and dealing.

Everyone likes to expect the worse, but I think he'll be convinced on at least one of the counts. :yeshrug:
