This is tactical and brilliant, and I think it came straight out of what the defense laid out in their Rule 29 motion yesterday. The gov't is backing off weaker charges, locking in clean legal language to block the uforthcoming defense spins, and making clear that coercion includes fear and control, not just physical force, and making sure the jury is not guessing about what the law actually requires. Why is everyone ignoring the fact they're still trying him for racketeering They didn't really have any evidence for the other crimes other than testimony. The kidnapping charge was based almost entirely on Capricorn Clark - no one elses testimony really stood up as being held against their will places. The arson was based entirely on the Cudi situation. They tried to use stories like Cassie seeing people leave the house with guns to suggest he was a mob boss.

He's nailed to the cross on racketeering though. . The $100,000 he bribed the hotel workers for the tape and used his company employees to facilitate the deal? The shyt with Cassie's parents? Threatening to leak "Jane's" videos? Bribing, extortion. The bag of drugs he has his employees carry around for him? Drug trafficking.
