You absolutely right from fashion to slang even to the liquor we drank. Nowadays rappers talkin bout the dont listen to hiphopstarting to feel like rap will never be this relevant again. it was dictating EVERYTHING back then. now the shyt is dead.
This is true. I definitely remember that Cam's rhymebook pic floating around. Dipset didn't start getting love on the net until recently. To keep it real there was a bit of a Dipset backlash ON THE INTERNET around late 04 early 05. I remember on AHH dudes would complain about Cam and Juelz's "repetitive nursery rhyme style flow" Jones being wack to many members ect.I also remember some posters calling them the "Dipshyts" But I aint never heard nobody say that shyt in the streets tho.
Man shut your nerd ass up.How much longer is the internets going to overrate this group? It's funny because they get more love now then they ever did when they were actually poppin.
jr writer, lloyd banks and cassidy really changed the game low key...the street buzz they had off these radio/mixtape freestyles...this is the time when nyc nikkas were still buying bootleg cds and mixtapes from them african nikkas on the street
i miss that era

110th/Tito Puente. Before moving there I spend most of my childhood in East River projects but my mom moved us out because shyt crazy over there. You can see my old hood in the background of some shots in the Killa Season movie. Im from where you only heard about in the raps fam. Anyway, Dipset was considered clowns by a lot of nikkas, this was before 'swag' took precedence over everything. It definitely wasn’t universal love in Harlem so i know damn well it wasn't like that across the city & country like yall make it out. They get way more love in retrospect than they did at the time. Now check the amount of responses I got simply stating that fact
nikka where did you live? Pluto???
I don't know where a nikka is from where Dip Set was crazy popular. In NY during that time only thing more popular was G-Unit and that depending on which hood you was from
FOREVER YOU SAD SACK OF shyt! How much longer is the internets going to overrate this group? It's funny because they get more love now then they ever did when they were actually poppin.
I thought Juelz was going to be huge!which one of the freestyles is where Un Kasa was spittin and Cam was like you gotta see his stance right now...I always pictured son doing some crazy lean while spittin...
Was there recycled material? Sure
Is it still classic? Yes
Let's take the time to appreciate the day the Diplomats went to Hot 97 & gave us this historical moment.
@ Cam's adlibs throughout, talking his shyt
