God forbid black men ever take accountability for their actions. The article is about black men not being in their children's lives...yet somehow the issue is still deflected and women are blamed as the problem. I will agree that women do need to be more selective, but this is really a vicious cycle. Most of these "women" whom are selecting (i.e. getting knocked up) are only teenagers and very young adults who are not mature enough to select the right kind of "man". Usually these young women and men come from broken homes themselves and so did their mother. No father was in her life...and so it will also continue for her child.
this discussion is just branched off sex
"fatherlessness" is just a segway back to promiscuousness
if you really want to talk about kids in the black comm, try the root or an irl group that deals with the betterment of kids in the black comm

Explain what role feminism had in "ruining the black community" :leostare:

Feminism deterred the height of the Civil Rights movement by creating and exploiting the divide between black men and black women and, thus, served as the genesis in the disintegration of the black family unit. Moreover, feminism encouraged black women to forget (or cast aside) their concerns as black people and instead focus on social concerns that ultimately benefited white women. Lastly, the feminist movement provided the outlet for black women to discard their traditional values and morals to instead engage in the hypersexual behavior practiced and encouraged by white women during the sexual revolution.

Thats how shyt be in the hood. Most families are fukked up. I only heard these issues as being "black" problems when I was exposed to mass media and propaganda.

Acting like other races are playing happy families smh, shyts fukked up across the board. It's only focused on the black community because anything we do gets magnified by 100%

media dont promote positive images of black families, no wonder people got a fukked up sense of reality

Pre welfare state the black family was strong...:wow: I wish our liberal brehs could make the connection.

Nah breh. You can argue welfare has negative aspects, and obviously some of us have run into people who take advantage of that system. But blaming all this on welfare seems disrespectful and revises history. We cannot ignore what redlining started, and then what the introduction of heavy drugs into black neighborhoods finished. Imagine trapping a group of people into one segmented off area, and then setting it aflame. That's what happened. If you want to argue welfare compounded those issues then fine, but as a black man it would be foolish to deny the bigger issue at hand.

Another problem, which hurt people regardless of race, was the dismantling of middle class jobs. Auto industry, manufacturing, shipping jobs, construction...a lot of that shyt has been handed off to foreign countries. Suddenly a father without a college education couldn't get a decent job at GM and work his way to good pay/benefits; sure the auto industry isn't dead but it's not nearly as huge as it once was.

Think about the jobs your granddads and old uncles had. A lot of that shyt doesn't exist in their cities anymore.
