EXACTLY....man I could talk about early 2000's for dayz.....
I would take trips with my roomate and visit my cuz in Duval for a half-P.
He was pushin them for this dude that used to get fronted like 50-60 from Texas..That why I know that 250/pd was real situation at one point...especially for that reggie-mid
Yeah man, those were the days

I used to sell weed on a casual basis to my social circle, which removed the danger from it because it was only people I knew. Even so, unless you're a mid to top level distributor you're not going to be making that much money. I had a client base of about 30-40 people and I'd pick up an O every few days, so it was really only enough for me to be able to smoke for free and make pocket change. After a 3-4 months, I profited about a g, which is the same I'd make from a part time job.
If you've read the book Freakonomics, it's the same even for hard drugs, which are theoretically addictive and more profitable, and also way more dangerous. Street level drug dealers make barely above minimum wage, the only reason people get caught up in it is the lack of an alternative, the glamorization of the lifestyle, and the small possibility of moving up the chain and becoming a mid-level distributor or kingpin (who actually do make large amounts of money, but it is very very difficult to get there before getting killed or locked up).
There's other hustles out there that are safer, make more money, and can be put on a resume. Honestly, props to all the dedicated drug dealers who aren't scummy and handle their trade professionally, though. They allow all the stoners and recreational drug users to enjoy our lifestyles. When you do it right, it's an actual service.
This dude gets it. You can flip anything there's an opening in the market for. I know and have heard of people who go to thrift stores / swap meets, pick out clothes they think people would fukk with, and resell the threads on eBay for profit, and make a living off of it. And that's just one idea. I respect anybody who can get on their hustle and do it in a way that doesn't fukk others over.
First off, if you had 30-40 people for clientele (which is an enormous clientele base for a dealer) and you wee only making a grand every few months then something wasn't right. That doesn't really add up. Especially if you were selling breakdowns which it sounds like you were since you copped an O every few days.
Also, I've read the Freakonomics book too. It's a cool book but it's overrate as hell. People love to bring it up when discussing the economics of drug dealers. The main reason why the average drug dealer is not successful is because they are not disciplined enough to not touch their re-up money and keep the flip going. The second reason is that they don't have the clientele base to justify them selling drugs so they end up sitting on their product, tying their funds up in the process, and then have to sell it for cheaper than they intended, thus fukking up their profit margins. The third reason is people getting high off their own supply and fukking up their profit margins. The nikkas who wrote Freakonomics never sold no dope, so they really don't know what they are talking about. It's much more intricate than that. It basically comes down to discipline.
