Nice & smooth was doing it before both of them
And I hated everyday people that video stayed on the box

But the coli gonna make you think Lauryn was the first one
I dare one of yall to say she had a song better than this
Take me home...![]()

I wasn't a fan of theirs either tbh. My mother had the tape tho
But Tennessee is an all time hip hop classic![]()
I forgot about Smooth BNice & smooth was doing it before both of them

Never knew the name of the group who did this song.
So I thought Michael Bluth was gonna be busting a rhyme and singing![]()
That is a MUCH better song, FYI.
That’s exactly what I was listening to back then. I was a huge Tribe fan too thoI have to give it another listen. I had to look up when the album dropped to remember what I was listening to back then to understand why Arrested Development disgusted me so much when seeing that video. They dropped in March 92". So you figure all the sh!t that was out right before and after was still in heavy rotation before their album came out along with Tennessee being the lead single.
Death Certificate
Mr Scarface Is Back
Cypress Hill's debut
Naughty By Nature's debut
WC & the MAAD Circle
PE's Shut Em Down album
Das Efx's debut came out right after AD's debut
So you can imagine with all those albums in rotation and their videos getting airtime how someone would bewhen the Tennessee video came on. Watching Rap City and They Want EFX comes on
Then Tennessee comes on![]()
Felt like that De La video when they walked into the classroom.
I didn’t say all thatI had the album for some reason
I thought they were cool... But not Lauryn Hill good![]()
I never said they were the first just that they did it before Lauryn HillOP
the FORCE MD's say hi and bye

Zion shyts on that song and it's arguably one of the most beautifully crafted songs ever.
