i always loved that line.

i pull it out whenever somebody says "ohh well his beats are dope", when talking about a non-producing rapper

Always loved that line....it's even better when put into context and the lines before that one are added...

Light is provided thru sparks of energy from the mind that travels in rhyme form
Giving sight to the blind
The dumb are mostly intrigued by the drum...

The drums is sayin sumthin these bums ain sayin nuthin:krs:

the first thing came to my mind......cuz when the words dont matter.....all you can do is listen to the drum.....so never argue with folks talkin about all they like is the beat........cuz if u really had a over-standing of what they really saying......they are saying the song/lyrics dont capture they attention.....but the beat does....

I seen "these 2 chainz nikkas"...... its not "2chainz" its the beats.....

if u listen close and hard enough......the beat/drums is always talking to you.....

I listen to the whole song. Not every song is the same, you can't just single out "this is a hot beat so the song is at least halfway good" or vice versa. Either you feel it or you don't...

Half the sh!t Pac spit over would be garbage if you only listened to an instrumental. And thousands of songs with hot beats have been garbage and forgettable...

:dwillhuh: The fukk are you talking about? Ain't nobody sayin that

It doesn't matter if the lyrics make you go :wow:. If the production is shyt, you'll always be like :ehh: and you won't be as impressed as you would be had the production been better.

Dope line.

It's been like this before hip hop even existed tho. Cats need to stop acting brand new.

Some of us like SONGS not SPOKEN WORD. Only RHYTHMLESS, SOULESS individuals don't like a good beat. That line is the perfect defense mechanism for rapping ass rappers who can't make a SONG to save their lives.

The words are the paint, the beat is the canvass. The Mona Lisa wasn't painted on notebook paper
