My predictions
Cain Velasquez vs.
Junior dos Santos - for heavyweight titlle
Man I am a huge JDS fan but I just can't see him beating Cain. Cain is relentless with the pressure, striking, clinch, TD attempts, etc. His conditioning is way better. JDS looked pretty bad against Hunt and showed nothing that makes me think he can stop Cain's onslaught outside of catching him early like the first fight. I expect it to be much more competitive then the first two, but eventually Cain will drain JDS cardio for another five round UD.
Daniel Cormier vs.
Roy Nelsonsp
Cormier is better in all aspects except possibly BJJ. Nelson is nothing but a glorified gatekeeper at this point. I expect Cormier to use his speed and athleticism to light up nelson while avoiding the right. He will also have no problem taking down Nelson whenever he feels like it. DC by UD.
Gilbert Melendez vs.
Diego Sanchez
Another retarded Silva match up. But this should be a contender for FON. Sanchez is kind of borderline washed but he still has heart. Hopefully he comes in at weight. I got Gil. Better striking, cardio, aggressiveness, and the TD defense to keep Sanchez off him. Melendez by UD
Gabriel Gonzaga vs.
Shawn Jordan
This is typical tailor made fight that Gonzaga will find a way to lose. He should go for the TD early and use his BJJ for the sub. But he will of course get caught and wilt away. Jordan by TKO in the 1st
John Dodson vs.
Darrell Montague
Don't really know much about Montague except he is a vet and was a flyweight champ in some other org. I got Dobson by TKO just because.
PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. ET)
Tim Boetsch vs.
C.B. Dollaway
Despise Dollaway and I am no fan of Boetsch. This fight could suck if Dollaway takes Boetsch down. But Boetsch should be able to land some bombs for the TKO win.
Hector Lombard vs.
Nate Marquardt
Lombard is has fallen off even though hes losses have been close decisions. Marquadt is another choke artist Really don't see how dropping to WW improves Lombards horrible cardio. Both have heavy hands but Lombard has a better chin. Lombard by TKO in the 1st
Jessica Eye vs.
Sarah Kaufman
Should be the best fight on the undercard. Both have good stand up so it should be entertaining. But Kaufman has wrestling in her arsenal so I will give her the decision
K.J. Noons vs.
George Sotiropoulos
The bottom of the barrel at 155. Probably a loser gets fired fight. George has fallen off since that Lauzon fight. Noons, despite being a pro boxer, has some terrible striking. He has a knack for throwing haymakers and power shots with no technique or set up at all. But he still may get the KO because George has no chin whatsoever
