i think there's a point to be made about the obsession on identity politics leading white america to feel threatened and start coalescing. Black people definitely losing the numbers game but I think BLM/black issues was third on the list of things that made white people uncomfortable the last few years. Latino immigration and the Muslim boogeyman rank ahead of us at least according to some of the conversations I've had since the election. White evangelicals are scared to death of the caliphate.

I really cant "just blend in" though... If we're taking a group photo maybe... But my day to day interactions will always be a struggle... I dont lust after power and constantly talk about others like most in the business world because i come from a different culture.

That's not true. Republicans do not support sentencing reform with any bills or laws. At the state level they oppose any resistance to mandatory minimums. Finally, the prison industrial complex was not created by liberals. If you're referring to the 94 crime bill, it was not only proposed by Clinton who is obviously not a progressive, but the prison industrial complex had already preceded him by 20 years at that point.
