Falcon and Winter Soldier was lowkey my favorite. They actually went into racial topics surprisingly well, which i wasn't expecting. I like when superheroes movies/shows, tackle real world issues instead of being 100% fantasy. X-men was really popular to me for this reason.

Plus i also see the superhero films genre as a fusion between the sci fi/fantasy genre and the martial arts genres. Yes i like seeing superpowers on display but ultimately hand to hand combat is the most satisfying type of combat in these films. I 'd rather see spiderman, cap, batman or daredevil going toe to toe with people in bare knuckle brawl over people making hand gestures and gesticulating at each other with different color light effects.

For the reasons you mentioned, the first episode of falcon and winter soldier was my favorite by far.

Had the racial undertones, the naivete by Falcon, the amazing action scenes, the deep dive into bucky's reality, the hesitance of the government to allow cap to "die", etc.

To me the series actually got worse with every episode. I wont nitpick, but man the first episode was so much better than the rest imo.

They ended the Thanos arc too early...IM, Cap, got at least 1 or 2 more left in them...
12 years was a long enough thanos arc. Iron man i understood as RDJ was not only getting old, but was cost prohibitive at that point too. Chris Evans though i agree, they could've kept him around for a bit longer. But maybe they might bring him back since they didn't actually kill him off. Those time machine experiments they did in end game show that you can de-age some people like they did when antman turned into a baby.

One thing i do know though, at this point they have enough of their properties back, that they don't need to waste time doing project based on C tier characters anymore. let them start out as guests and then earn the spotlight like falcon did.

2 not connected to a larger storyline
if you saw the movie...you'd know they are connected to a larger story. :beli:

the problem with this movie is a lot of people that haven't saw the movie are giving full reviews and calling it trash. Or people with agendas. The movie was fine. Most origin story movies are going to be like this because they have to bring new fans along. What's funny is if they jumped right into the middle of plot instead of explaining what/who the eternals are, people would be calling the movie trash because "they didn't explain who they are.................................I NEED A PREQEL". :pachaha:

This is the entertainment industry. You are literally doing this for our amusement. I hate when people get so high on themselves and try to act like they doing something of greater value than something else just because they say so.

Your job is make food that people like, not lecture them that your food is better because you followed some classical literature to make it more authentic to the historical significance of the region or some other bullshyt. thats not how this shyt works. you can be your favorite rappers favorite rapper of the film industry all you want, but ultimately the success will go to the more popular entertainment act.

yeah it definately was...it's no coincidence that they were marvel's first two movies starting from the 2000s. In the 90s everything was X Men or X Men connected (X Force, X Factor etc)...and Spiderman had about 5 books circulating...I just remember seeing stuff like the Eternals and the Inhuman books from the 70s and 80s as obsolete story arcs...i think Marvel was supposedly going bankrupt around this time which is why they began to lease a lot of the characters off just to stay a float...supposedly the movies are what saved them

yeah the only reason I knew of the others like Ironman, Captain America Thanos way before the MCU was a mixture of me playing the MVC games and watching the small series they had in the 90s which were overshadowed by Spider-Man & X-Men TAS. Afterwords I looked them up & other heroes comic but for the avg movie goer they would know until Disney showed them.

Facts. Fantastic Four had the juice until the X-men blew up in the 80s and 90s. Spider-man was always that dude, and the Hulk is an icon.

Casuals were mostly :camby: towards the rest of those characters when we were growing up. (Daredevil goes hard though :wow:)

Right now it’s looking like the problem with Eternals is that it doesn’t feel like it’s doing much to build up to some really live stories or events.
We can admit it—Most of Phase 1 (besides Iron man 1) was mid until the Avengers 1 crushed the buildings. But we were still invested because we knew they were building up some live ish.

They’ve gotta quit playing and start dropping towards hints towards X-men/Fantastic Four/Doom/Galactus if they want to keep the audience’s interest.

It was cool to focus on the B and C list when that was all they had, but now that they have the rights back we need to see some real characters.

Most of all, they need a clear direction. Where are they trying to go with all this?

My theory on part of the reason why is they arent bringing them in yet is they want all the Fox films to be forgotten by the movie crowd zeitgeist.

The casual audience of anything is the biggest market in everything. I don’t know why it’s hard for ppl to understand sometimes folks like to see fun dumb movies that entertain very well. Not everything has to be an art piece.

I remember when Godzilla vs King Kong came out critics were saying it’s too much fighting what about the development for the humans knowing damn well nobody paid tickets to see that. Ppl want to see two giant monsters duking and out in a big city.

Anyone who says this movie is trash is crazy..

This movie is akin to Captain America: Civil War and Winter Soldier.. the storyline, character dynamics etc is fukking amazing.

With 2 and a half hours they did a damn good job!

Muhfuccas DIED in this film! It wasn't no regular degular marvel film where heroes don't face any type of real danger or pain!
