Im confused about the bold part. Wasn't there federal funding for landlords? Why would the landlords care about where the money is coming from as long as they get paid?

Cause they aint got nothing yet. Imagine renting out your spare crib to someone and you haven't been paid in a year and a half.
That's those folks income too. I'm not talking bout those large ass property management companies, fukk them. Talking bout the everyday landlord. They still gotta pay on that.
And if the govt paying back rent
1. Do they have enough to cover everyone?
2. If they dont folks still gon end up in the street.
3. So what then?

My suggestion to actually fix this:

Speed up the eviction process.

Make it no fault so it doesn’t hit people’s credit records or stop them from renting again.

Have the judges disperse the money directly to landlords at the eviction hearings after they review people’s rental payment history and employment situations.

This moratorium should only apply to people who can’t work due to covid. That’s where the problem started.

I just don't see how the government expects all this money to be allocated ASAP when these city, state and local governments don't have the resources or staff to pull it off. It's like a boss throwing a major project on his understaffed/underresourced workforce and then complaining that they aren't getting it done fast enough.

Just read about a landlord who said he loss over $24,000 in rent because of this… tenants not paying rent but got new vehicles

I see a lot of landlords in the future just going to sell their properties and be done with it

these tenants in this era have almost more rights than you as a owner

Rent should be no more than 15% of a person's monthly income
