There's no rewriting of history because this is exactly what happened:

The one thing that isn't talked about enough regarding the Steph-KD dynamic is, how the offense functioned whenever it ran through the latter. Funnily enough, the greatest example of this was against the Rockets in the 2018 WCF, whom many wouldn't expect to have the defensive gameplan to turn the Warriors into the worst version of themselves, but they did.



They forced the Warriors into relying on KD-ISO, and this was happening during a period where I believe he tried to hijack the offense to prove whatever point about his standing in the team was (the Warriors didn't operate the same as they did in 2017 because of it). They had GS up against the ropes, and when it was looking like it was all going to come crashing down when the Rockets were up 3-2 in the series and had a 61-51 half-time lead in Game 6, an important adjustment was made - that adjustment was, KD falling back with Steph and Klay taking the reins.

The flow, execution and results were night and day from what was happening prior in the series. In the second half: Steph and Klay combined for 34 points and were a respective +33 and +32, and Durant only scored 7 points and was +13.

They went into the second half trailing by 10, and ended up winning by 30 with that adjustment.

Everything that unfolded in that series was the beginning of the end.

The Warriors are coming off a championship (all without KD, might I add), whereas the Nets were swept in the first-round.
The Warriors have a .500 record (with marginal losses), whereas the Nets are 1-5 and have been thoroughly outplayed in nearly every game.

Do you wanna tell me how they're remotely comparable, or do you wanna continue embarrassing yourself with these whataboutisms?

I was against Durant going to Golden State.

Once he did though, he should have stayed there and tried to win 3, 4, 5 championships. Whatever it might have been.

He’s never going to win another title.

I suppose the decision to leave GS and create a separate winning legacy was understandable. But choosing to do so with Kyrie, and later Harden, was a gross miscalculation.

KD wanted Kyrie, Nash, etc. He's an iso-hooper at heart, and criticized Kerr's system and doesn't like the pressure of being a leader. He likes to be hands off.

Has KD had bad luck? Yeah, sure. But he's also been in good situations. And the reality is that people have rewritten history to act like he was Jordan-esque player held back by Westbrook, and act like he is a victim of the Nets, when neither of those is the case.

He's a case study in both poor leadership, and iso-ball as the focal point of an offense. There's a reason why he's only won in GSW.
