Lots of other players in various sports have gotten blame for allegedly engineering bad rosters -- perhaps unfairly.

Kevin Durant though...dude. You seemingly gave your blessing toward playing with Harden, Kyrie and Simmons....three of...maybe the most disappointing and unreliable basketball players of the last 30 years.

That can't go unnoticed.

That “you seemingly” bs you posted. Its the NBA front office who makes those decisions. We dont know how involved KD was in it and if so, its STILL the fault of the front office for giving the player the keys.

NBA fans are dumb as fukk.
That’s kinda fair. At least with Harden and Simmons.

Not really with Kyrie tho.

He's a case study in both poor leadership, and iso-ball as the focal point of an offense. There's a reason why he's only won in GSW.
/Thread.

KD couldn't have picked a worse guy to pair up with and he has zero leadership qualities, which is why the Nets culture devolved into this.

The point of no return was when they traded for Harden, and I'm sure he had a big part in that.

He's not getting another ring unless he gets traded to somewhere he can replicate his GSW days.
And no, the Sons sure as hell ain't that team.

I see you mistakingly use this in your NFL v. NBA agenda all the time.

The NBA revolves around it’s stars; it’s not like the NFL where it’s more the sum of its parts. Therefore, stars in the NBA have a lot more sovereignty over the decisions a franchise makes. KD has openly spoken about how he wanted to team up with Harden (again), and you can bet he had influence on the organization opting to bring Harden to BK. KD left GS because he wanted to create something of his own, and to the effect he wanted to stack the deck with players of his choosing. That’s how he, Kyrie and Harden came about.

There’s a reason why the Nets didn’t want to take on Westbrook, and it’s not just because Tsai was petty. It’s because they knew KD wouldn’t give them his blessing on trading for him.

His career path has taken the course of being stuck in a burning building, only to be rescued and resuscitated after being on death's door, only to willingly run into another burning building.

Unfortunately for him, it doesn't look like anyone's coming to his rescue this time.

Is this guy really gonna abandon ANOTHER failed superteam :mjlol:

I remember when the Coli was saying he was a GOAT :russ:
Not only this board, NBA Media was going hard to push him over LeBron, and it was never real...

I've always liked Durant, but I've always disliked the conversation around him. He's gotten kid gloves treatment ever since OKC Media called him Mr Unreliable, for any one person who dared criticize him, there were 10 mf's telling you that GOAT shyt...

His legacy is gonna be a complicated one, though he's earned his stripes. But playing as long as he has and never having any championship success outside of 3 years in Golden State, will absolutely be an indictment on his career...
