My barber started slacking and being inconsistent with his cuts and shop opening times bout 5 years ago so i made the transition into cutting my own shyt. I miss that feeling yall are talking about but my shyt stays looking nice when i do it myself, not crisp, but nice and i dont have to worry about my hairline going back.

Smh thats how it is now, I got so used to my barber. Half the time he'd cut my hair then cop a quarter, like I was gettin paid to get my hair cut

Male bonding at its finest. Maybe only stronger is father and son or brothers. But the barber is a underrated connection in a male's life. Especially black males. Its like our social club. Sometimes cats just come by and talk shyt and don't even want a cut. But end up getting one anyway since they stayed so long. My shop is cool. Me and barber are friends outside of the barber/haircut dynamic. We do music together, he promotes showcases I host, he helps to promote my radio show. We just cool. So we talk for a good while during the cut and after.

But anyways, when you get a fresh cut and you got the smell of hair spray and sheen in ya hair, waves spinning or the fade is crisp, the line is sharp! the beard is trimmed and lined up nice! its a wonderful feeling my nikkas. cherish ya barber. I give my barber x-mas card and all that. Gotta let em know their skills are appreciated.
